متن کاملDetection and identification of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in a large and consecutive cohort of serum samples referred for ANA testing.
OBJECTIVE To provide data on (a) the probability of detecting antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in a large and consecutive cohort of serum samples referred for ANA testing and (b) the probability of detecting more specific antinuclear reactivities (anti-DNA and anti-extractable nuclear antigens (anti-ENA)) in serum samples with a positive screening test (indirect immunofluorescence on HEp-2 cells). ...
متن کاملArthritis and antinuclear antibodies (ANA) with inherited deficiency of the sixth component of complement (C6).
We report here the case of a woman with joint pains found to have antinuclear antibodies and undetectable serum haemolytic complement. Investigation of her and her family members showed an inherited deficiency of C6.
متن کاملReproductive and hormonal risk factors for antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in a representative sample of U.S. women.
BACKGROUND Autoantibodies are of growing interest in cancer research as potential biomarkers; yet, the determinants of autoimmunity are not well understood. Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) are common in the general population and are more prevalent in women and older adults. Here, we examined the relationship of ANA with reproductive and hormonal factors in a representative sample of U.S. women. ...
متن کاملAntinuclear antibodies (ANA) in a Colombian cohort of pediatric patients with autoimmune diseases (PAID)
Results 363 patients were included. 66% had JIA, 11% JSLE, 7% juvenile undifferentiated autoimmune disease(JUAD), 4% Scleroderma, 4% JDM, 1% uveitis ANA + and a group of other PAID 11%. ANA positivity varies according to the subtype of JIA from 0-68%. Positive AAN: JSLE 93%, scleroderma 85%, JDM 63%. Most JUAD had ANA + at low titers. A heterogeneous group of other PAID showed a variable titers...
